Chamonix Haute Savoie sits at the base of the majestic Mt Blanc in the Alps and is generally regarded as the mixed climbing and snowboarding centre of France. The resort is well know as a veritable area for activities in both summer and winter seasons. The town held the 1st Olympics back in the early 1920s - but it is also an area of amazing vistas providing much to the skier and sightseer.

However unlike most new skiing resorts Chamonix town is not a souless ski domain and has been largely preserved from the concrete resorts that blight so much of the European Alps. It is fortunate to have not only and infamous skiing field but a cosmopolitan and thriving resort centre.

Chamonix is large enough to guarantee that there’s enough for the non skier to see. Whatever the pace of your vacation there is something to please everyone. Not to mention an impressive sports and swimming centre, beauty salons, paragliding and local market; and a plethora of designer shops, restaurants and night clubs, Chamonix offers a combination of climbing, old town charm and aprs ski, which only a few skiing resorts can equal. Why not book that luxury chalet now.
